Colts vs Bengals Preview

on

colts vs bengalsThe Indianapolis Colts are set to close out the NFL preseason against the Cincinnati Bengals in a competition set to take place on Thursday as both teams look for momentum entering the regular season.

The Colts and Bengals are unlikely to give their starters, especially those players who are critical to the team’s success, much, if any, playing time as both teams look to keep those players healthy and make last minute evaluations before cutting the roster down to the final 53.

So far this preseason the Colts find themselves winless, while the Bengals have only won one of their 3 preseason games.

The Colts, despite their rough preseason record, are still the favorites to win the AFC South. The AFC South is one of the weaker divisions within the NFL as the biggest competition the Colts are likely to face will probably come from the Tennessee Titans as both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans have to rebound from sub par 2013 campaigns, especially the Texans, who finished with the worst record in the NFL last season.

The Bengals are looking to assert themselves as a dominant force within the tough AFC North, where they will have to play the Pittsburgh Steelers as well as the Baltimore Ravens twice a year. The other team in the AFC North, the Cleveland Browns, will likely be the least of the Bengals division concerns, but could pose a threat as well. The Bengals are hoping to make a push back into the playoffs and, this season, finally win a game in the NFL postseason.

The line of this game favors the Bengals by 3, while the over/under for the game is set at 42.
