Florida State vs Oklahoma State Preview

Florida State 1

The number 1 team in the country, the Florida State Seminoles are set to meet the Oklahoma State Cowboys in AT&T Stadium, regular season home of the Dallas Cowboys, on Saturday as both teams are seeking a victory to start off their season.

The Seminoles finished the 2013 season with an undefeated record, going 14-0 overall and 8-0 in the ACC. The Seminoles won all 5 games they played against teams ranked in the top 25 on their way to winning the National Championship game last January over the Auburn Tigers, ending the SEC National Championship streak. The Cowboys finished last year with a record of 10-3, earning an in conference record of 7-2 while also winning 3 of the 5 games they played against the top 25.

The Seminoles would love nothing more than to repeat as National Champions this season, but in order to do that, they face a tough test to open the season against an Oklahoma State team that enjoyed some success last year. That said, the Seminoles are set to make a run into the inaugural FBS subdivision playoffs, and in doing so, pursuing another national championship.

Oklahoma State is looking to enjoy more success like the ones they had last season, and prove that they belong among teams ranked in the top 25. The Cowboys played well within the Big 12 last year and would like to assert themselves as a dominant team within the FBS and become a legitimate part of the national title conversation. A win over the Seminoles would be an incredible boost for the Cowboys hopes this season.

While the Seminoles are certainly favored going into the game, this will still be an interesting match and the Cowboys won’t be a pushover. That said, the Seminoles will still come out on top, 35-14 and earn a season opening win.
