Baltimore Ravens

NFL: Bengals vs Ravens Preview

on

bengals vs ravensThe Cincinnati Bengals are set to travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens in a week 1 AFC North division matchup as both teams look for an early edge in what is set to be a competitive division during the 2014 season.

The Bengals are coming into this season having won the AFC North last year, and they are looking to repeat that success this season. The Cincinnati squad will face a tough matchup in week 1, but they hope that quarterback Andy Dalton can help lead the offense to the success that they enjoyed last year that got them into the playoffs. In addition to having to compete against the Ravens within the division, the Bengals will also have to face the Pittsburgh Steelers twice this season, with the only team in the division that can virtually be ruled out of the playoffs being the Cleveland Browns.

The Ravens, after having won the Superbowl in the 2012-2013 season, failed to make the playoffs last year, in part due to decreased production from their offense, and the retirement of the heart of their defense, Ray Lewis. The Ravens hope, this year, to return to championship form, but will have to overcome the first 2 games of the NFL season without running back Ray Rice, who was suspended as a result of a domestic violence incident that took place earlier in the offseason. The Ravens are going to have a difficult game against Bengals at home.

The line on the game is set with Baltimore -1, while the over/under for the matchup is set at 43.5

The Ravens find themselves in a tough game at home to start the season, and the offense of the Bengals will be enough to earn them the upset on the road. Bengals take this one in a close game, 24-21.
