Cleveland Browns

NFL: Browns vs Steelers Preview

on

Browns vs steelersThe Cleveland Browns are set to travel to Heinz Field on Sunday in order to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game within the AFC North division, as both teams are seeking a victory to kick off their season.

The Browns are coming into this season looking to assert themselves in a division where they have been perennial bottom dwellers. Due to the recent success of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, as well as the emergent Cincinnati Bengals, the Browns have been hard pressed to get into the playoffs in recent years. One of the biggest motivators for the the Browns success is quarterback Brian Hoyer needing to produce some major victories if he hopes to keep his job from rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, on the other hand, are looking to improve from last season in which they did not make the playoffs. The Steelers suffered last year from a defense that did not live up to the reputation that the Steel Curtain has been known for in the past. The Steelers are looking for their offense to improve, as well as have a bounce back year on defense if they hope to contend once again for the playoffs. One of the biggest obstacles that the Steelers will have to face are their division opponents Ravens and Bengals, of whom, only the Bengals made the playoffs last season.

The line is set for this game at Pittsburgh -7, while the over/under is set at 41.

Pittsburgh will be too difficult for the Browns to overcome on the road. The Steelers defense will be largely responsible for holding the Browns to a minuscule point total, while their offense will be more than enough. Steelers win, 24-10.
