NFL: Titans vs Chiefs Preview

on

Titans vs ChiefsThe Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs are set to open their season on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium as both teams look to get an all important win in week 1.

The Titans are coming into this season looking to emerge as a legitimate playoff contender within the AFC South, and their biggest, in division, obstacle to doing so will be playing the Indianapolis Colts. Aside from playing the Colts, the Titans must deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, as well as a Houston Texans team looking to enjoy a resurgence this season. For the Titans to truly be considered contenders for a spot in the playoffs, they will have to see some pretty significant improvement on both sides of the ball.

The Kansas City Chiefs, on the other hand, are looking to enjoy much of the same success that they enjoyed last season after making the playoffs as a wildcard team. The Chiefs, under head coach Andy Reid, were led offensively primarily by the talents of running back Jamaal Charles. The Chiefs play in the tough AFC West where their biggest competition comes from the Peyton Manning led Denver Broncos. In addition to the Broncos, the Chiefs also play the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders within their own division. If the Chiefs hope to get back into the playoffs, they will need to enjoy the same success they had on the offensive side of the ball, while improving defensively.

The line for this game is set with Kansas City at -4, while the over/under for the matchup is set at 43.5

The Chiefs are set to get a victory in the opening week of the season over the Titans, as the Tennessee squad doesn’t boast enough on offense to overcome the Chiefs on the road. The Chiefs take this one 31-17.
