NFL: Vikings vs Rams Preview

on

vikings vs ramsThe Minnesota Vikings are set to travel to St Louis to take on the Rams in a game between teams who dwelt in the cellar of their respective divisions for the majority of the 2013 season, that both teams would love to win.

The Vikings are coming into this season looking to improve on their struggles from the last few seasons. The Vikings, in large part, have been led offensively over the last few years by Adrian Peterson, who is largely considered one of, if not the best, running back in the NFL. The Vikings will have to deal with the high powered offenses of both the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears within the division. While the Vikings did draft former Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, their defense took a major hit with the loss of captain, Jared Allen, to the Chicago Bears.

The Rams, on the other hand, play in what is arguably the most competitive division in football, the NFC West, as they will be forced to compete with the likes of the Arizona Cardinals, the San Francisco 49ers, as well as defending Superbowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams will not only have to compete against the tough division, they will also have to face it without starting quarterback, Sam Bradford, who tore his ACL and is out for the entire season. Without his help, the Rams are sure to struggle through most of the season.

The line on this game has St Louis at -3.5, and the over/under is set at 43 for the game.

Although the Rams are favored to win the game at home, without the help of Sam Bradford, the victory is far from assured. The Vikings take this one in an upset, 21-13.
