The Ohio State Buckeyes are set to kick off this season on Saturday in Baltimore as they set to face off against the Navy Midshipmen in a game that both teams are looking to win to start their 2014 season off right.
The Buckeyes are coming into this season ranked number 5 overall and finished last season with an overall record of 12-2 , finishing 8-0 within the Big 10, as well as accumulating an okay record of 2-2 against other teams ranked in the FBS top 25. The Midshipmen, last season, finished the year with a 9-4 record, not posting a conference record as they are a service academy, and independent from any conference ties. Navy did not face any teams last season within the FBS top 25. -Keys for Appalachian State Mountaineers:

Ohio State is looking to make a serious impact this season as they are once again bowl eligible, and thus, capable of competing for a National Championship. The Buckeyes are hoping to continue the success they enjoyed for much of last season, and make a push for not only the Big 10 championship, but into the newly established College Football Playoffs as well. In order for the Buckeyes to succeed, they will need to improve their performance against higher level competition.

Navy, who will take the other side of the field in Saturday’s matchup, are hoping to build off the success that they enjoyed last season, and getting a season opening victory over the Buckeyes would do a lot to help them establish themselves as a team to be reckoned with. Navy will need to bring their A game if they hope to upset the Buckeyes on Saturday.

While the Buckeyes will be without Braxton Miller in Saturday’s game, Navy will still have to pull off a miracle to beat Ohio State. The Buckeyes win this one 28-10.
