Panthers vs Steelers Preview

on

Panthers vs SteelersThe Carolina Panthers are scheduled to square off with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday in what will be the final preseason matchup for both teams before the NFL regular season gets underway.

The big name starters for both squads are unlikely to see much more than the bench during the upcoming preseason game as both teams are looking to preserve the health of their starters. In addition, the back ups are going to be playing for a spot on the final 53 man roster.

Both the Panthers and the Steelers are entering play this week with a 1-2 record so far and will be pushing for a win in order to get maybe a little more momentum before the kick off in week 1.

The Carolina Panthers are looking to continue to play well like they did last season and play into the playoff coming out of the NFC South where their biggest competition will be coming from the offensive juggernaut that is the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers also have to deal with the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while overcoming a significant exodus from the wide receiver position. The Panthers hope that the talent of Cam Newton can continue to lead them to success.

The Pittsburgh Steelers hope to make it back to the playoffs out of the AFC North after missing the post season last year. The Steelers will face off against the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Baltimore Ravens within their division as they make their push towards the playoffs. The Steelers hope to be led their by a defense that returns to the form that Pittsburgh fans are used to.

The line on the game favors the Steelers by 6, and the over/under game is set at 38.
