Minnesota Vikings

Patriots vs Vikings Preview

on

PatriotsThe New England Patriots are set to take on the Minnesota Vikings in Minnesota as the Patriots are seeking their 1st win on the year, while the Vikings are looking to move to 2-0, and help maintain their spot on top of the NFC North.

The Patriots are coming into this game having been upset by the Miami Dolphins in an opening week contest by the score of 33-20, and the Patriots are looking to bounce back from the loss this week. The Vikings are coming into this week having beaten the St Louis Rams 34-6, in a convincing win on the road opening week.

The Patriots are looking to bounce back from their loss last week, and in order to so, they will need to see dramatic improvement in the run game, as running back Shane Vereen only got 36 yards on the ground. Tom Brady will also need to improve his performance, only throwing for 249 yards and 1 touchdown against the Dolphins defense.

The Vikings were dominant in their game against the St Louis Rams, and while it was certainly a strong showing, it needs to be acknowledged that the Rams were playing without the talents of number 1 quarterback Sam Bradford, who tore his ACL in the preseason, and also saw 2nd string quarterback Shaun Hill leave early in the game with an injury. The game against the Patriots will be the 1st test that the Vikings defense will have had to face on the young season.

The line at this game has the Patriots favored by 3.5 points, while the over/under for the game is set at 49.

This game will be a good one, but the offense of the Patriots will be too much for the Minnesota defense to counter. Patriots win 35-17.
