Rams vs Buccaneers Preview

on

Rams vs BucsThe St Louis Rams are set to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as both teams are still seeking their 1st win on the year, and will meet this week having lost tough games last week.

The Rams got blown out last week, losing their 1st game of the year, which also happened to be their home opener. The Rams lost that game by a score of 34-6 to the Minnesota Vikings. The Bucs suffered a tough loss last week to the Carolina Panthers. After being dominated for much of the game, the Bucs pushed the game close towards the end of the 4th quarter, before a fumble helped the Panther stretch the lead to the final score of 20-14.

The Rams are coming into this game having already lost projected starter, Sam Bradford, for the entire season after tearing his ACL in a preseason game. In the contest against the Vikings, the  Rams backup, Shann Hill, who got the start in place of Bradford, was also hurt, causing 3rd string quarterback Austin Davis to take the reins. The Rams offense will need to perform much better if they hope to beat the Bucs.

The Bucs, who played a strong 4th quarter, are still looking for their 1st victory under new head coach Lovie Smith, and in order to do so will need to see some improvement on offense. In order for the Bucs to get the win, their running game will need to be more productive and quarterback Josh McCown will need to improve his performance as well.

The line for this game has the Bucs favored by 6, and the over/under set at 37.

This shouldn’t be a high scoring affair, as the Bucs defense should be more than enough to stifle the Rams anemic offense. Bucs win this one, 17-3.
