Redskins vs Buccaneers Preview

on

redskins vs bucsThe Washington Redskins are scheduled to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday in the last preseason game that the 2 teams are set to take a part in.

The Redskins have played to a 2-1 record so far this preseason, while the Bucs have accumulated a 1-2 record. Both teams would like one last win to provide a little extra momentum before entering the season.

In all likelihood, the majority of the starters will be sitting on the bench in order to help preserve their health as well as give the teams an extended look at players who are competing for a spot on the final, 53 man roster. Despite most of the starters sitting, there is some talk of Robert Griffin III getting some playing time in order to help him continue to prepare for the season after looking rusty so far this preseason.

The Redskins are looking to improve from last season where then sophomore quarterback had a sub par season and the Redskins missed the playoffs. The Redskins will be playing against the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, and Dallas Cowboys primarily this season as members of the NFC East. The toughest competition they will face from within the division will come from the high powered Eagles offense.

The Buccaneers are looking to emerge as a power within the NFC South, but they must still compete among the likes of the high powered offense of the New Orleans Saints, as well as the always tough Atlanta Falcons, and one of last years surprise contenders the Carolina Panthers.

The line for Thursday’s game has the Buccaneers by 2.5 points. The over/under scheduled for the game is set at 39.5 in total.
