Mizzou
The South Dakota State Jackrabbits are set to open up the season against the Missouri Tigers on Saturday, as both teams are looking to start the season off with a victory. The Jackrabbits finished the 2013 season with a record of 9-5 while also getting 5 of those victories, out of the 9 they played in conference play, within the MVFC Conference of the FCS subdivision. The home team in this matchup, the Mizzou Tigers, come into this season ranked at 24 in the FBS top 25 rankings, finishing last season with a record of 12-2, with a final record of 7-1 within the tough SEC. Mizzou finished 5-2 in games they played against the top 25, with one of those losses coming to Auburn in the SEC championship game.

The Jackrabbits are looking to build upon the success they enjoyed last year within the MVFC and the FCS subdivision as a whole. In order to truly assert themselves as a dominant force in the FCS, the Jackrabbits will do whatever they can to get the upset over Mizzou.

Mizzou, on the other hand, is looking to continue to enjoy the success they had last season within the SEC, with the biggest change they want from last year is a victory in the SEC championship. Last season the Tigers ranked 34th overall in points allowed, by giving up an average of 23.1 points per game. The Tigers did enjoy a lot of success offensively scoring an average 39.1 points per game, earning the ranking of 14th overall in the FBS.

While the Jackrabbits would love to send the Tigers fans home disappointed, the defending SEC East Champions are going to be more than match for the Jackrabbits. The Tigers will take the win in the season opener in dominant form, taking it 35-14.
