The Chicago Bears are set to take on the Cleveland Browns

on

browns vs bearsThe Chicago Bears are set to take on the Cleveland Browns in what will be the final preseason game for both squads on Thursday as both teams look to acquire one more victory before the regular season kicks off the next week.

So far this preseason the Bears have a record of 2-1 while the Browns have a record of 1-2

The Chicago Bears will almost certainly sit all of their key starters in the upcoming game, as most teams traditionally do during the final preseason game of the year. The Browns on the other hand, may very well give Brian Hoyer, who was named the starter before the 3rd preseason game of the year some time as a starter in  order to help him prepare for the upcoming season.

The Bears are hoping to make the playoffs this season after missing the playoffs last season after losing the final game of the NFL regular season on a last minute touchdown from the Green Bay Packers that allowed them to go to the playoffs. The Packers will remain one of the main sources of the Bears difficulties, but the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings are also members of the NFC North that the Bears will have to face throughout the season.

The Browns, on the other hand, are looking for massive improvement this season in hopes of becoming competitive within the tough AFC North. The Browns will have to deal with the likes of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Baltimore Ravens within their division. Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer will likely face heavy scrutiny all season while 1st round pick Johnny Manziel sits on the bench, chomping at the bit to get Hoyer’s job.

The line for this game favors the Browns by 4.5 with the over/under set at 42.5.
