Zac Guildford Injured After Attack

Zac GuildfordZac Guildford the Clermont back could be out of action for three to four weeks after he was violently attacked Saturday night while out late at night.

La Montagne reports that Guildford was set upon unexpectedly by three people when the assault took place, after the player had gone for a kebab with Jonathan Davies a Wales centre.

The two had previously been out with the entire Clermont squad celebrating the birth of the son of Camille Lopez and the birthday of Jamie Cudmore a lock on the squad. The celebrations came following the squads convincing rout of Racing Metro by the score of 32-6.

After the Clermont player was violently kicked to the face, he faces at least three and possibly four weeks on the sidelines from suffering trauma to a part of his jaw.

This attack on Guildford comes only a month after Aurelien Rougerie, Julien Pierre and Bengamin Kayser were part of a similar attack that took place in Millau during the club’s preseason.

Jean-Marc Lhermet said that in this particular incident Guildford was the victim of the crime.

There have been no reasons at all to reproach him since he has arrived, added Lhermet, his integration is doing very well.

Clermont has been pleased with Guildford’s behavior since he arrived. He has stayed away from any kind of trouble, but it seems to have found him again.

The talent of the player is undeniable but trouble seems to somehow follow him around no matter when he has played his rugby.

The hope is that when he returns to the field of action he can concentrate on playing the game he loves and is very good at and leave the nocturnal activities to others.
