49ers vs Texans Preview

49ers vs TexansThe San Francisco 49ers are set to take on the Houston Texans on Thursday in what will last be the last preseason game that the teams will participate in.

The 49ers have played to a 1-2 record so far this preseason while the Texans have played to a 2-1 record, and both squads are lloking to get one more win before the regular season begins.

Both the 49ers and the Texans will likely rest any and all key contributors for the entire night in an effort to ensure the health of all of their starters and to give some of the players still competing for a spot on the 53 man roster an extended look to prove themselves.

The 49ers will be looking to continue their success that they have enjoyed over the last couple years in which they have been to the NFC Championship twice and the Superbowl once. The 49ers will be competing in the division with the Superbowl champion Seattle Seahawks, as well as the Arizona Cardinals, who look to continue to improve. The NFC West also features the St Louis Rams who, after the loss of Sam Bradford, will be unlikely to pose a significant threat within the division.

The Texans, on the other hand, are looking to improve significantly over the last season in which they managed to play to the worst record within the NFL. Playing in the NFC south means that the Texans will also have to face the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, and Indianapolis Colts twice a year, with the biggest competition coming from Andrew Luck’s Colts.

The line for the game is set, favoring the Texans in the matchup by 3. The over/under for the match is set at 39.
