76ers Thaddeus Young To Timberwolves

Thaddeus YoungThe Minnesota Timberwolves have reached a deal, in principle, on Friday that will send Luc Richard Mbah A Moute, Alexi Shved and a future 1st round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for forward Thaddeus Young.

This new deal that will bring Young to Minnesota will be part of what will now be a 3 team trade that is also set to send Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett, and a 1st round pick to the Timberwolves, and send Timberwolves all star forward Kevin Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The deal between the 3 teams will be able to go through at 12:01 AM on August 23rd, just as soon as the 30 day waiting period after Wiggins signed his rookie contract expires.

Young has long been pegged as the Timberwolves desired replacement for Love, and now it appears that the Timberwolves will be able to acquire Young without having to give up Bennett, who was rumored to be sent to the 76ers in exchange for Young yesterday, but the Timberwolves were adamant about keeping Bennett.

The addition of Young to the Timberwolves is a strong move that will help the Timberwolves be more competitive sooner rather than later. This series of trades is a clear indication that the Timberwolves are in a rebuilding phase, that said they appear to be acquiring a significant number of strong young talent and are poised to be a competitor sooner rather than later.

The 76ers will now also acquire their own pieces that will help them in their own rebuilding phase, as they look to become a strong team in hopefully the near future.

The acquisition of Kevin Love is set to make the Cavaliers one of the most legitimate title contenders in the NBA by adding his floor stretching ability to an offense with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.
