Bucs Get Logan Mankins in Trade With Patriots


Logan MankinsIts no secret the offensive line if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been down right offensive this pre-season so much so that teh team brought in troubled former Miami Dolphins OL Richie Incognito for a sit down meeting and physical yesterday with the Bucs brass.

Today the Bucs took action to address the issue with the offensive line.

According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, the Bucs have agreed to the parameters of a deal that will bring Logan Mankins from the Patriots. In return, New England gets tight end Tim Wright and an undisclosed draft pick.

Mankin is a six-time Pro Bowler and former first round pick of the Patriots in 2005. Signed through 2016, Mankins is due to earn a base salary of $6.25 million in 2014, $6.75 million in 2015, and $6.75 million in his final season.

Tim Wright is a second year tight end who essentially became expendable when the Bucs drafted Austin Seferian Jenkins in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Bucs GM Todd Licht said in his presser the team will continue to explore options at offensive line including Incognito.
