Arizona Cardinals

Cardinals vs Giants Preview

cardinalsThe Arizona Cardinals are set to travel to East Rutherford, New Jersey to take on the New York Giants in a game that sees the Cardinals trying to earn their 2nd win on the season, while the Giants are still looking for their 1st win on the year.

The Cardinals are coming into this game off of an opening week victory over the San Diego Chargers in a thrilling matchup on Monday Night Football last week, earning victory by the narrowest of margins 18-17. The Giants, also played in a game on Monday Night Football, only they lost in convincing fashion to the Detroit Lions by the score of 35-14.

The Cardinals showed a lot of toughness in their game on Monday, scoring 12 unanswered points in the 4th quarter in order to earn the narrow 1 point win. The effort was led largely by quarterback Carson Palmer, who threw for 306 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game, helping the Cardinals earn the victory. The Cardinals do, however, need to see improvement in the running game if they hope to remain competitive throughout the year.

The Giants were thoroughly beaten on Monday Night Football by a Lions team that dominated most aspects of the game. Eli Manning struggled, much like he did last season, during the game, throwing 2 interceptions while only connecting on 1 touchdown pass. The Giants also struggled on the ground, and also defensively having their secondary shredded by the duo of Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson.

The line on the game has the Cardinals favored by 2.5 points on the road, while the over/under is set at 43 for the matchup.

The Cardinals are favored to win this one on the road, and based on how the Giants played last week, they should do just that. Cardinals take this game 28-17.
