Cincinnati Bengals Andy Dalton Gets 6 Year Deal

Cincinnati BengalsCincinnati Bengals quarterback, Andy Dalton, just signed a 6 year $115 million contact, according to ESPN.

Dalton, expected to sign the contract later today, was in the final year of his current deal, and was scheduled to make just under $1.7 million.

Bengals offensive coordinator had nothing, but praise for the quarterback, calling his play in training camp, “sensational.”

Dalton has helped lead the Bengals to 3 playoff appearances since  becoming the teams starting QB, however, the Dalton led Bengals have yet to advance out of the first round of the payoffs, giving Dalton an 0-3 record as a starter in playoff situations.

Despite the lack of playoff success, Dalton has certainly been a strong QB in his young career for the Bengals, leading the team to 30 regular season wins, and leading the team to 3 straight postseason appearances since being drafted in the 2nd round after in the 2011 draft.

Dalton, paired with explosive wide receiver, and the Bengals 2011 1st round pick of the 2011 draft, AJ Green, Dalton has played like a 1st round talent as a starter for the Bengals, and when throwing the ball to AJ Green, is part of one of the most dynamic QB, wide out duos in the NFL.

Though he still has quite a bit to prove, Andy Dalton is the quarterback of the future for Cincinnati.

Once Dalton gets a playoff win or 2 under his belt, and continues to develop his skills as a quarterback, he is set to lead the Cincinnati Bengals towards success for at least the next 6 years.

This contract shows Dalton that the entire Cincinnati Bengals organization is behind him, and believe Dalton is a critical piece in taking them toward future success.
