NFL: Bills vs Bears Preview

bearsThe Buffalo Bills are set to travel to Soldier Field in the Windy City to take on the Chicago Bears in the season opening game for both teams on Sunday, as both squads look for an all important win to start the season.

The Buffalo Bills, amid speculation about who the new owner of the team as well as the potential of the team being moved, are entering this season with eyes toward improvement and becoming legitimate contenders within the AFC East. The Bills do have to face quite a few obstacles if they hope to make a legitimate push to the playoffs. The Bills biggest competition within their division will be coming from the New England Patriots, a team that has largely dominated that division over the last decade plus. In addition, the New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins are looking to emerge as strong teams within that division as well.

The Chicago Bears, who take the field opposite the Bills on Sunday, come into this season with eyes toward the playoffs as they look to avenge the week 17 loss suffered at the hands of the rival Green Bay Packers that prevented the team from going to the playoffs last year. The Bears hope to follow an overpowering offense, led by the Jay Cutler, and the wide receiver duo of Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall, as well as a revamped defense to an improved season, and maybe even deep into the playoffs.

The line on the game is set at Chicago -7, with the over/under at 47.

The Bills hope to get a victory on the road to help get their season off on the right foot, but with the Bears entering their 2nd season under the high powered offense of Marc Trestman, and boasting an improved defense, the Bears will take this one, 35-17.
