NFL: Jaguars vs Eagles Preview

eaglesThe Jacksonville Jaguars are set to travel to Philadelphia on Sunday where they will take on last seasons NFC East division champion Eagles, in a game that both teams are looking to win.

The Jaguars are coming into this year looking to improve and become legitimate contenders within the AFC South. One of the major obstacles that the Jaguars will have to overcome is the loss of running back Maurice Jones-Drew, who shouldered the majority of the load for the Jaguars on offense while he was in Jacksonville. The Jaguars drafted Blake Bortles in the first round of this years NFL draft in order to provide some lift to the Jags offense in the future, but he will not be taking the reigns of the team for the Jaguars week 1 game.

The Eagles, who are set to take the field at home in the opener, fielded one of the most high powered, fast striking offenses that the NFL has seen in recent memory under former Oregon head coach Chip Kelly. The Eagles are looking to continue their dominance in the NFC East from last season, as they continue to attempt to overpower the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants, and Washington Redskins in their division. The Eagles boast an incredibly potent offense, and will likely be able repeat as NFC East champions this season.

The line set on this game is Philadelphi at -10.5, while the over/under for the match is set at 53.

The Jaguars would love nothing more than to get a season opening win over the Eagles on the road, but the Eagles offense will quite simply be too potent for the Jaguars to truly compete against. The Eagles will take this one convincingly 41-10.
