North Dakota State v Iowa State Preview

The North Dakota State Bison square off against the Iowa State Cyclones this Saturday in both teams opening games. North Dakota State finished last season 15-0 winning the FCS championship last year. Iowa State finished last year 3-9 losing all four of the games they played against top 25 teams -Keys for Appalachian State Mountaineers:

The North Dakota State Bison under second year head coach Chris Klieman hope to pick up right where they left off last season. Their powerful offense which put up nearly 39 points per game last season should give Iowa States defense, which was 110th in the FBS in points allowed per game, all that they can handle.

Iowa State is not to be overlooked however returning Junior quarterback Sam Richardson as well as his favorite target Quenton Bundrage. These two will look to improve on last seasons numbers in an attempt to bring Iowa State to some level of prominence within a strong Big 12 conference. When the coach of Iowa State was asked to describe his team in one word he chose “Hungry.”

This is going to lead to a hard fought game that neither can afford to lose. In the end the stronger team on paper is North Dakota State and it is them that I have winning in a close game. I predict the score to be 35 to 24 with North Dakota coming back in the second half. In the end the North Dakota State Bison really have an opportunity to make a statement in this game. By winning this game North Dakota State proves that they can play against any team FCS or FBS.

This game will be the perfect way to propel North Dakota State in to what they hope to be another FCS championship season.
