Seahawks vs Chargers Preview

seahawks vs chargersThe Seattle Seahawks are set to play their 1st game of the year on the road having won their opening game of the year at home, while the Chargers are coming off of a tough loss to the Cardinals on the road, and looking to earn a win in their home opener.

The Seahawks rolled to a pretty easy win in their opener, as they played in the kickoff game last Thursday and beat the Green Bay Packers by the score of 36-16. The Chargers took a tough loss in their week 1 game against the Cardinals, having lost the game by the score of 18-17 after the Cardinals scored 12 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to earn the comeback victory.

The Seahawks were dominant in their opener, holding the Packers offense to just 16 points, while their offense performed well, with running back Marshawn Lynch ran for 110 yards and scored 2 touchdowns, and Russell Wilson throwing for 2 scores in the air, although he was light on yards. The Seahawks will need that same production to beat the Chargers in this weeks game.

Then Chargers didn’t have much success in the way of scoring, as running back Ryan Matthews led the team with just 40 yards on the ground on 12 carries, and quarterback Phillip Rivers threw for just 238 yards and 1 touchdown in their Monday Night Football contest last week. The Chargers are going to need improvement if they hope to come out on top of their contest against the defending Superbowl champion Seahawks.

The line for this game is set favoring Seattle  by 6 points, while the over/under for the game is set at 45.

The Seahawks will get another win this week, pushing their record to 2-0, and keeping the Chargers winless. Seattle wins this one 28-17.
