Seahawks vs Raiders Preview

seahawks vs raidersThe Seattle Seahawks are set to close out their preseason schedule against the Oakland Raiders on Thursday as both teams are looking to enter into the regular season with a little extra momentum on their side.

So far this preseason the Seahawks have played to a 2-1 record, while the Raiders have played to a 1-2 record.

Both the Seahawks and the Raiders will likely both sit all of their starters and key contributors for the game in an effort to maintain the health of their main players before the regular season kicks off. In addition to sitting the starters, the backups will also get an extended look as they make a last push to earn their way onto the 53 man roster.

The Seahawks are entering this season as the defending Superbowl champions and are looking to repeat this season, becoming the first repeat champions since the 2003-2004 Patriots. The Seahawks will have to contend with the likes of the San Francisco 49ers, the Arizona Cardinals, and the St Louis Rams. The Cardinals and 49ers could pose serious challenges, but after the loss of Sam Bradford, the Rams will be hard pressed to have much success this season.

The Oakland Raiders enter this season looking to improve on their performance from last season as they have to compete in a tough AFC West that features the most recent AFC champions, the Denver Broncos, as well as the tough San Diego Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders are unlikely to see much success this year in their tough division, but they may be able to see some improvement.

The line on the game is set, and it favors the Seahawks by 5, and the over/under is set at 39.
