South Dakota vs Oregon Preview

OregonThe South Dakota Coyotes are set to start off the 2014 season by visiting Autzen stadium in an opening game against the number 3 ranked team in the country, the Oregon Ducks, as both teams seek their first win of the season.

The Coyotes finished last season with an overall record of 4-8, while also posting a record of 3-5 within the MVFC conference of the FCS football subdivision. The Ducks, who will be lining up against the Coyotes on Saturday, finished last year with a record of 11-2 overall, while also finishing last season with 7 victories in the 9 games that they played within the PAC 12. The Ducks also finished last season by winning 2 of the 3 games they played against the top 25.

The Coyotes are hoping to improve from their record last year, hoping to prove themselves as worthy competitors within the MVFC on the FCS subdivision. While the Coyotes have a lot to do in order to prove themselves this year, a victory over the Oregon Ducks would provide an incredible boost to the confidence of a team that is looking to strive for improvement.

The Ducks, on the other hand, are simply looking to continue the success that they have enjoyed in recent seasons, boasting one of the best offenses in the NCAA. One thing the Ducks do need to focus on this season, is ensuring that their defense is capable of restricting some of the other high powered offenses that play within the PAC 12. Oregon is also looking to play to a spot in the College Football Playoffs and even compete for a national title this year.

The Ducks should be able to run over South Dakota with their high powered offense. The Ducks blow the Coyotes out of the water, 56-3.
