Texas A&M Jumps into Top 10 in latest AP Poll


Kenny HillThe Texas A&M Aggies moved up 12 spots to No.9 in the latest AP poll released on Tuesday. The Aggies completely dominated South Carolina 52-28 in the season opener on Saturday. With the loss South Carolina dropped from a the 21 in the poll.

The top four in the rankings remained unchanged: Florida State, Alabama,Oregon and Oklahoma. Auburn moved up one spot from No. 6 to round out the top five.

Florida State lost 11 first-place votes from 57 to 46 after squeaking by Oklahoma State 37-31 in their season opener.

Three Pac-12 teams registered in the 11-15 range, with UCLA at No. 11, Stanford at No. 13 and USC at No. 14. The SEC took the other two spots in that section with LSU at No. 12 and Ole Miss at No. 15.

Nos. 16-20 were Notre Dame, Arizona State, Wisconsin, Nebraskaand Kansas State.

Alabama dropped 44 points in the media-panel voting after beating West Virginia. The Tide has one first-place vote. Oregon has five and Oklahoma two. No. 6 Georgia has two and No. 12 LSU one.

Louisville who soundly beat Miami jumped into the top 25 .
